The Student Intellectual Life Committee supports student-initiated projects, professional development opportunities, and student research. It awards small grants every month to AUCA students.

Who are the members of the SILC?
At the moment there are 7 members of the SILC. There are 5 elected faculty members, and two student representatives: one selected by the faculty members of the committee and one chosen by the Student Senate.听

What is the purpose of SILC?听
The GOAL of SILC is to promote excellence in research, learning, and overall intellectual development of students in the 红唇直播. The purpose of SILC is based on the acknowledgment that students' scholarly experience is an integral component of Liberal Arts Education and that such research-based learning will better prepare students to fulfill their plans, aspirations, goals, and dreams.听

Which activities does SILC perform?听
SILC encourages a move toward 鈥渞esearch-based learning鈥� in AUCA, promotes increased opportunities for undergraduate students to have experiences as students 鈥� scholars and provides the venue for student鈥檚 scholarly accomplishments to be recognized, promoted and made available. More precisely, SILC administers the听Student Research Fund听to encourage and promote student research.听SILC will evaluate applications for funding and award grants to support students鈥� field or archival research. SILC administers the听Student Travel Fund听to support students鈥� participation in international conferences, workshops, cultural exchange programs, and research-related activities. SILC members annually select the Best Senior Thesis Award, for which the committee uses thoroughly developed criteria and procedures.
