On Sunday, November 25 the Department of Applied Geology organized the field excursion to Boom Gorge for students. This tour arranged by Rustam Orozbaev as a part of the practicum for the courses of General Geology, Structural Geology & Tectonics, and Mineralogy & Petrology. During the excursion, students were able to observe the geological outcrops of rocks in the field. They've learned how to use geological and topographic maps, GPS and geological compass, and described the structural relationships of various rock types. This type of practical field works greatly help students to strengthen their theoretical knowledge that they receive at the university.

Department of EMSD and Applied Geology听haveorganized a tour for AUCA students to the 鈥淜onorchek鈥� canyon.The amazing landscapes of Konorchek canyons resemble the Grand Canyon in the USA, but at the same time they carry a significant particle of the unique nature of Kyrgyzstan.It's a fabulous place located in 125 km from Bishkek, in Boom gorge.Konorchek canyon is a mysterious land of intenselycolouredand textured formations of red sandstone. It's a wild and inspiring region.

Department of EMSD and Applied Geology together with Mayrambek Nurgaziev have organized tour for AUCA students to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Currently, the JICA is making efforts to the organic farming development in Kyrgyzstan; therefore, the aim of this visit was to see practically Biogas, Green House, organic products and Composting usage.听
