Air Quality Research Project
On December 17, 2025, the Department of Environmental Sustainability and Climate Science (ESCS) in the ºì´½Ö±²¥ (AUCA), together with the World People United (WPU) organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea, installed sensors to investigate the air quality in Bishkek.Ìý
4 students from the ESCS department under the supervision of Dr. Mairambek Nurgaziev will participate in this research. The main purposes of the research are: Improved Air Quality Monitoring: to create better air quality monitoring systems. Based on the research outcomes, improve cooperation with government agencies in order to develop effective regulations and policies. At the same time, training AUCA students, in air quality monitoring.Ìý
The following chemical components of air pollution will be investigated:
- Carbon monoxide
- Carbon dioxide
- Nitrogen dioxide
- Ammonia
- MethaneÌý
In addition, the representatives of the WPU organization (juehyuk@naver.com, phone/whatsapp 010-6271-2694) met with the President of the ºì´½Ö±²¥, Dr. Timothy O'Connor, and discussed current and future research projects that help improve the environmental situation in the country.
